The Team


Clients and contacts alike comment on the friendly atmosphere of the Spence Clarke offices. The partners decided when they took over the firm in 1991 that it was essential to recruit and retain a team of bright and committed professionals that takes pride in executing work efficiently.

It is true to say that we take a positive interest in our clients and look after them in professional and creative manner. Our clients arise almost entirely from recommendations.

All technical staff hold professional qualifications that are relevant to their areas of work.

Another policy of the partners is to maintain a mix of nationalities in the team in order to ensure that we are  able to relate properly to our clients. The partners believe that being able to communicate in English is not in itself sufficient to understand the needs of clients. Understanding the business culture of clients is perhaps more important.  

The firms work is broadly distributed as follows:

Alistair Spence Clarke FCA is responsible for the tax planning work of the firm. He is also responsible for audit assignments.  

Susan Spence Clarke is responsible for the firm’s non resident clients and the management of the firm. 

Michael Egan is responsible for the firm's commercial and property investment clients. He manages bookkeeping, accounts production, payroll management and business tax compliance for the whole firm.

Miguel Ángel Blanca Prieto is the senior technical manager providing a broad range of tax planning and legal services for the clients of the firm and he also manages the firm's property conveyancing services. Miguel Ángel works closely with Alistair on complex tax consultancy projects. 

Claudia Vargas Puccio deals with the tax compliance services of the firm for resident and non resident individuals, mainly involving  the annual tax filings of these clients. She also deals with Spanish inheritance tax matters and Will preparation and assists Miguel Ángel Blanca Prieto with property conveyancing work. She also deals with payroll services to clients. 

Daniel  Blanca Prieto is principally involved with the day to day accountancy and payroll work of the firm as well as tax compliance and statutory accounts filings. He also is involved with notary and registry procedural work for property and company legal mattes.

Galina Ivanova looks after the practical side of Government administrative work for the firm's clients as well as dealing with the suppliers for those clients who use our property management services.
