On 30 April, the British Chambers of Commerce, together with Nockolds Lawyers in Spain, organised a wonderful breakfast networking event at the stunning La Sala restaurant, located in Puerto Banús.
Representing Spence Clarke, I attended alongside my co-partner Miguel Ángel Blanca Prieto. It was an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow professionals and members of the business community in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The morning began with an opening address from Derek Langley, who gave an insightful presentation on the work of the Chamber, its continued growth, and the positive role it plays in supporting businesses across Spain. He also highlighted the long-standing history of the British Chamber in Spain, noting that it is one of the oldest British Chambers established overseas.
Following this, Darren Hayward introduced Nockolds Solicitors, explaining that the firm has a long-established history in the UK stretching back many years. He also shared how they made the decision some years ago to expand into the Costa del Sol, opening their office in the centre of Estepona, conveniently located close to the church. Darren spoke proudly of the firm’s continued growth and how pleased they are to be working successfully in Spain.
After the presentations, attendees were invited to briefly introduce themselves. I presented myself first, followed by Miguel Ángel, who brought plenty of laughter to the room when he began by saying:
“I am Miguel Ángel Blanca, also partner of Spence Clarke, and I copy and paste what my colleague Claudia has just said…”
He then added a few more words of his own, much to everyone’s amusement.
The morning concluded with an excellent opportunity for networking, allowing us to meet new members of the association, strengthen existing relationships, and exchange ideas with fellow professionals from across the region.
We would like to thank the British Chambers of Commerce and Nockolds Solicitors for organising such an enjoyable and worthwhile event, and we look forward to attending future gatherings.
