Spence Clarke Summer Party 2026: A Well-Deserved Celebration After a Busy Season
After an exceptionally busy July, the Spence Clarke team came together on Friday 31 July 2026, to celebrate another successful tax season with our annual Summer Party in Marbella. It was the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy each other’s company and recognise the tremendous effort that everyone had contributed over the previous months.
The Third Annual Spence Clarke Volleyball Tournament
As has now become tradition, the day began with the Third Spence Clarke Volleyball Tournament, held on Marbella Beach.
This year’s competition featured three teams:
Blue Team – Arena Legends

Red Team – All Stars
- Darío

The tournament was another huge success, combining friendly rivalry, excellent teamwork and plenty of laughter. The competition proved far more demanding than anyone expected, particularly because of the intense summer heat. Although the forecast had suggested a cloudy day, the sun shone relentlessly throughout the matches.
The opening game between the Red Team and the Green Team was extremely close, with both sides fighting for every point before the Red Team narrowly secured victory.
The second match saw the Green Team face the Blue Team. Few expected the Blue Team to challenge after falling well behind early in the game. However, they produced an extraordinary comeback through outstanding teamwork, impressive defensive play and excellent communication, eventually winning the match.
The following game between the Red and Blue Teams proved equally competitive. Once again, the Blue Team surprised everyone, defeating the Red Team and establishing themselves as the surprise package of the tournament.
Before the final, everyone welcomed a well-earned hydration break. Temperatures were considerably higher than anticipated and the players certainly appreciated the opportunity to cool down. As always, the break was filled with conversation, laughter and good humour, reminding everyone that spending time together was far more important than the final result.
The final brought together the Red and Blue Teams once again in an exciting and closely contested match. There were spectacular rallies, outstanding defensive plays and great determination from both sides. In the end, the Red Team – All Stars emerged victorious, becoming the champions of the 2026 Spence Clarke Volleyball Tournament.

Relaxing on Marbella Beach
By the time the volleyball tournament had finished, Galina and I joined the rest of the team on the beach.
The weather could not have been more perfect for the occasion. Despite the high temperatures, the sea was wonderfully calm, with virtually no waves, and the water temperature was ideal. Unsurprisingly, many members of the team spent most of the afternoon in the sea, enjoying a refreshing swim between conversations.
Whilst relaxing on the beach, we enjoyed beers, tintos de verano and a selection of healthy vegan snacks whilst catching up away from the pressures of work.
Lunch at Chiringuito Dolce Vita
After our time on the beach, we made our way to Chiringuito Dolce Vita, where our lunch reservation awaited us.
Before the meal began, it was time for one final competition.
As an additional prize for the winning volleyball team, the champions were invited to draw straws to determine who would receive a fabulous stay at a luxurious hotel in Gibraltar. The participant who selected the shortest straw would be the lucky winner.
Congratulations to Fran S., who walked away with the prize.
We then enjoyed a delicious vegan lunch whilst seated across three large tables. The meal was excellent, providing everyone with another opportunity to relax and celebrate together.
A Celebration That Continued Into the Evening
Once lunch had finished, everyone naturally began mingling between the tables, chatting and enjoying a few more drinks together. The atmosphere throughout the afternoon and evening was relaxed, friendly and full of laughter.
The celebrations continued until around 11:00 pm, although the younger members of the team were not quite ready to finish. They decided to walk into Marbella town centre, where the evening continued for at least another hour.
