On Friday 13 February, Collective Calling hosted a charity event at the charming Coto Restaurant, on the Ronda Road, near Marbella. The evening brought together professionals, creativity and generosity in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Spence Clarke was represented by Galina, Manager of the Administration Department; Helio, Senior Accountant; Rob, Financial Controller and IT Manager; and myself. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with champagne and live music, setting the tone for an enjoyable and engaging evening.
Gemma, the founder of Collective Calling, surprised us once again with a unique artistic experience. We were invited into a separate room where a beautifully decorated table awaited us, complete with individual painting materials and name placements. Each participant was given the choice of painting a portrait of the person seated opposite them or creating an image of their choice using a photograph from their mobile phone.
The activity was met with a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation. For some of us, painting did not come naturally. For that reason, I wisely decided not to attempt a portrait of Rob and instead chose to paint a sunset inspired by Tarifa. Helio opted for the same subject, while Galina was the only one who faithfully followed the brief and painted a portrait of Helio.
The greatest surprise of the evening came from Rob, who revealed a genuine artistic talent, having enjoyed painting and taken classes when he was younger. The experience achieved exactly what Gemma had intended: allowing everyone to disconnect, relax and forget about everyday concerns.
Following the painting session, an auction and ticket raffle were held. Although none of us were fortunate enough to win, the spirit of the event remained high. The evening concluded with a delicious meal prepared by an exceptionally talented young chef, rounding off what was truly a memorable occasion.
It was an evening filled with creativity, laughter and community spirit, and one that will certainly be remembered.
