Spence Clarke had the great honour of sponsoring David Steele in his final Charity Golf Marathon at El Higueral, Benahavis on 7th June 2021.
He was attempting to play 324 holes of golf over 18 rounds and raise 150,000€. In fact, he bettered his target in both golf and and and the amount raised.
David played 396 holes over 22 rounds in 14 hours and raised the fantastic amount of 150,000€
David anticipates that even this figure will increase over the coming weeks.
The funds will be split between two very worthy charities on the Costa del Sol: AECC Marbella, a Cancer charity, and Centro Contigo in La Linea, a charity for disadvantaged children and their families. The money raised will enable the charities to continue their valuable work in the local community.
CANCER RESEARCH IN TRIBUTE TO MEKKI ABDULLA
These days, it is a sad fact that most of us have been touched either directly or indirectly by cancer. Mekki was a great character, a great golfer and a friend to many at San Roque.
As a tribute to Mekki, and all those who have been affected by this dreadful disease, the Members of San Roque will raise money for Cancer Research
Congratulations to David on both these amazing achievements and hope it was not his finale especially as we have not heard the fat lady sing!
