We arrived early at La Cañada to take our team photograph beside the Christmas tree, wearing festive hats and jumpers to set the tone for a truly special day. From there, we headed to the bowling alley. While waiting for a few colleagues who arrived slightly later, we enjoyed a friendly warm-up with table football, pool and darts.
Once everyone was present, the bowling competition began and great fun was had by all. Some participants started with beers, claiming it improved their game, while others blamed the drinks for a noticeable decline in performance. The 2025 trophy was keenly contested between last year’s winner Javier, alongside Darío, Alexander, José and Fran, but in the end Miguel Ángel emerged as the overall winner.
Meanwhile, the “losers’ trophy” was contested by Eva, Meri, María Gutiérrez, Golnoush, Rocío and myself. Although many of us expected Meri to take this prize, especially after scoring zero points for at least three rounds, she suddenly began bowling nothing but strikes, overtaking almost everyone. In a final twist, María Gutiérrez ultimately claimed victory in this group.
After bowling, we moved on to the lovely La Sala restaurant in Nueva Andalucía, beautifully decorated in keeping with the Christmas season. The vegan menu was spectacular and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We then exchanged gifts during our Secret Santa, with most of us proving surprisingly bad at guessing who had bought our presents.
The evening continued with drinks accompanied by live music from guitarist and singer Paul Hull, who played a mix of country, rock and pop, keeping everyone dancing. The younger and more energetic members of the group carried on into the early hours, moving on to bars of the Marbella port and dancing until as late as 6.00 am.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate the year together, strengthening the sense of teamwork and camaraderie that defines our firm. We finished the day feeling grateful for the people we work with and looking forward with enthusiasm to the year ahead.
