This summer, our partners Sue, Alistair, and Claudia were joined by the Spence Clarke management team for a memorable sailing trip from Puerto Banús, Marbella. It was a day full of laughter, adventure, and just the right amount of challenge from the open sea.
The water was a little wavy, which meant that poor Sue and Dario spent part of the journey rather quiet, trying to manage the motion of the boat. We quickly learned that venturing below deck into the cabins to change was not the best idea, the rocking of the boat made dizziness much worse!
Once anchored in the middle of the Mediterranean, the sea became our playground. Everyone had the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim. Naroa and Eva were hesitant at first, a little intimidated by the deep blue waters, but with encouragement they both joined in. Javi, on the other hand, was unstoppable, diving into the water from every angle of the boat with boundless energy. Helio and Claudia made the most of the swim, staying in the water the longest, while Sue, Alistair, and Dario managed a shorter but cheerful dip.
The fun did not stop there. Helio, Javi, and Alistair each took turns at the wheel. At first, Helio was determined to avoid sailing against the wind, which caused a few unintended pauses, but he soon got the hang of it and handled the boat well. Javi and Alistair picked it up quickly, steering with confidence. Alistair shared that he had sailed as a child with his family and rediscovered how much he enjoyed it.
Back on tierra firme, with drinks in hand, Sue and Dario suddenly came back to life, clearly more at home on land than at sea! Their laughter rounded off what had been a truly special day.
This sailing trip was not only a fun outing but also a great reminder of the joy of sharing new experiences together, outside the office and in the fresh sea air of Marbella.
