Charity Golf Event raises record funds for Autism Association Angel Riviere

by

We are delighted to share the success of this year’s charity golf event, organised by Simon Ness of GolfInfo in collaboration with Spence Clarke and in support of Autism Association Ángel Rivière. The event took place at the beautiful Marbella Club Golf Resort and brought together members of the business community, clients, friends and supporters for a memorable day dedicated to an extremely worthwhile cause.

This charity holds a particularly special place within the Spence Clarke family. Our partner, Miguel Ángel Blanca, is the father of a 14-year-old son on the autism spectrum, giving him first-hand experience of both the challenges and rewards that many families face. As a result, the work carried out by Autism Association Ángel Rivière is especially close to our hearts, and we were proud to support an organisation that provides such valuable assistance to children and families across the region.

The tournament itself was once again played in Stableford format, with golfers enjoying excellent playing conditions and a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day. We are particularly proud to report that two members of the Spence Clarke team finished among the top ten players. Miguel Ángel Blanca secured an impressive 9th place, whilst Helio Carmona achieved an outstanding 6th place finish, demonstrating that his golfing skills continue to rival his accountancy expertise.

Following the completion of play, Simon Ness, representing GolfInfo, addressed the participants and explained the results of the tournament, prize winners and various aspects of the day’s proceedings.

Guests then had the opportunity to hear a heartfelt speech from Miguel Ángel Blanca, who spoke passionately about the importance of supporting families affected by autism. Miguel Ángel explained how many families face significant challenges, not only due to the financial costs often associated with specialised care and support, but also because social understanding and acceptance can still be lacking. He highlighted that some families continue to experience isolation and, sadly, may even find friends or relatives distancing themselves because of misunderstandings surrounding autism. His message was clear: society must continue to improve awareness, understanding and inclusion so that individuals with autism and their families receive the support and respect they deserve.

Spence Clarke was once again strongly represented throughout the event. Partners Alistair Spence Clarke, Susan Spence Clarke and Miguel Ángel Blanca all participated in the tournament, whilst team members Javier Osorio and Helio Carmona also took part on the golf course.

Behind the scenes, Spence Clarke was also heavily involved in the organisation of the event. Partner Claudia Vargas Puccio worked alongside fellow team members Galina Ivanova, Francisco Sánchez and Alexander Navarro, together with Simon Ness, to ensure the smooth running of the day. Their work included coordinating the placement of sponsor banners throughout the golf course, arranging additional banners in the restaurant area, preparing and distributing promotional leaflets on all tables, organising the charity auction and raffle. These efforts helped maximise both awareness of the sponsors supporting the event and the funds raised for Autism Association Ángel Rivière.

The generosity shown by participants, sponsors and supporters was truly remarkable. Thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved, an extraordinary total of 19,001€ was raised for Autism Association Ángel Rivière. This exceptional amount will make a meaningful difference to the association’s ability to continue supporting children and families living with autism.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Simon Ness, all sponsors, donors, volunteers and participants who contributed to making the event such a success. The day demonstrated what can be achieved when a community comes together in support of an important cause.

At Spence Clarke, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that make a positive impact on people’s lives, and we are honoured to have played a part in helping Autism Association Ángel Rivière continue its valuable work.
